Sorbet with a little bit of cherry liqueur (for adults) |
Some time ago, when I just started this blog, I decided to call Tuesday a Kale Day. Since then I fell in love this that fuzzy curly leaf plant, and so did my family... somewhat. Sometimes they don't even know that they eat the kale. Today is a good example. I made a kale-blueberries sorbet to everyone's delight. I blended kale, that I piked this morning from my garden, frozen blueberries, some lemon juice. Then I placed it in a glasses, trimmed with sugar, and added a splash of a cherry liqueur (optional, and for adults only). Let it stand in the freezer for about 30 minutes and we enjoyed every spoon of it.
For a hot day as it was today (temperature in 80F or 27C) we had a very cool dessert.
How was the weather in your parts of the world?
Did you have any kale today?
Until next time,
Cowboy Country Vegetarian
You eat very healthy. I haven't had Kale from many days.

DeleteHi marina, what a delicious dessert, well it looks to me, since i have never try it in my life., but in stead, i had a delicious and simple juice to refresh myself. "MELON JUICE WITH GINGER". the weather here was 31C.

DeleteThis is such a creative recipe!! It's a must try.
ReplyDeleteThanks Val!
DeleteThat's a refreshingly new idea, I'd never imagine Kale for dessert, but your sorbet looks delcious! I can probably go for seconds even if it's been raining the past few days here. And thanks for following my blog, looking forward to sharing more posts with you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming. I am working on a new page for my dudes, so come back to check it out!
DeleteLove kale, love blueberries. But together as a sorbet????? Will give this some serious thoughts. May give it a try when my garden kale is ready later in the year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norma. I did it from the kale I puled out from the garden as it started to bloom. I make juice and smoothies with kale all the time, it tastes great!
DeleteI've never heard of kale sorbet, but it looks delicious. I love the addition of blueberries.
ReplyDeleteOk, very very interesting. I would LOVE a taste of that. I love kale ;-) And our weather is pretty much the same. Other than the early pollen, I won't complain.
